| Ronin Amano (Ronin) | Thursday, February 15, 2007 - 03:34 pm On this week's Rent Wars News we discuss Judges for Sale. (note- due to still more sabotage at the studio this show has both focus and sound problems- details later). And another issue- see below… On Brooklyn Cable- Time Warner Ch 35 and Cablevision Ch 68 10:30am and 6:30pm on Thursdays. On Manhattan Cable- Time Warner Ch 34/78 and RCN Ch 83 at 4pm and 7pm on Thursdays. Everything has still been on hold since the last newsletter, but we got a lot of responses regarding the 94 year old man being evicted. Unfortunately, our Manhattan viewers did not get to see this episode due to, not sabotage, but human error. We've located the individual responsible. His initials are R.A. Apparently after rushing to edit and struggling to submit this time sensitive show on time (despite the ravages of some pretty severe sabotage) he mislabeled the tapes with the wrong month. Doh! So Manhattan viewers can see that episode on the 4pm timeslot today. The good news is that the 5th Avenue Committee found him a new place and all is well (but his old landlords still suck). On that last issue. On the "Judge's for Sale" episode, Anil Taneja unexpectedly mentioned Barack Obama in relation to our local corruption scandals here. On the air I responded to the effect that he wouldn't get involved in this issue. But that caused H.U.N.C.H. to start kicking like a mule. It turns out that the federal side of the judicial corruption scandal is nicely circling the Eastern District of New York. Barack Obama's best buddy from the Harvard Law Review is apparently the head civil honcho over at the U.S. Attorney's office- you know, the office that brings us Hyperfrivolous and, in the best light, actively aids and abets Judge Trager's and Judge Gleeson's open support of state court corruption and the Bribe Laundering Service. So that being said, it seems that I misspoke on the air. It appears that an announced presidential candidate does have some potential ties to our Brooklyn "incubator of corruption." But that's only the start of it… Once the corrupt EDNY link was established, I began to ponder a series of "What if" questions regarding Barack Obama. What if an apparently appealing Democratic candidate had a role in something similar to the Abu Ghraib scandal? Or had sat mute or participated cheerfully in a race lynching? Or had covert actions like Watergate going on? And many more questions. Would any of these things effect a candidate's luster in this modern democracy of our? I know someone who was in law school with Mr. Obama who asks these questions that I agree should be answered. I will share my thoughts at a later time. Hopefully after I post the back log of letters and the long overdue article regarding my opposition to the call for judicial raises. Ronin |
