The following was received by RWN that we are passing along because it sounds promising:
DeWitt Clinton Presents begins the airing of Part I of a two part cable access television series titled “HPD: Racketeering or Business As Usual”.
The guests on the show are Mr. Julian Jackson who served as President of the Civil Service Bar Association, an Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of New York and as President of the Clinton Planning Council, and Mr. Ron Nelson who is a long time housing activist in the Clinton/Hell’s Kitchen area of the west side of Manhattan.
The two one-hour segments focus in on events that occurred with property owned by NYC and “managed” by HPD as well as some of the cast of characters involved in obtaining the land for their own profit. It is a glaring example of how community board members can manipulate the process of “selecting” long-time community board members to reap profits from city owned property, which is a conflict of interest. Community board members are selected and their deeds protected by the Borough President and our City Council Members, in this case C. Virginia Fields and Christine Quinn respectively.
In 1995 the Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger-NYC Councilmember Tom Duane led CB4 approved a known international career criminal -- Dieter Esch -- to privatize DeWitt Clinton Park and today, the Manhattan Borough President C.Virginia Fields-NYC Councilmember Christine Quinn led CB4 is far worse. There is far more corruption on the board and instead of being “quiet” dictators as they were under Messinger and Duane, CB4 members are arrogantly and openly behaving as fascists.
