Null vote. click here for reasons Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz (Democrat) City Council, Council District 1 Alan Gerson (Democrat) District 1 is Ground Zero. But it is also Chinatown, Tribeca, and many other residential areas. The new representative for District 1 is facing a huge challenge. And possibly a very public one. We feel that Gerson has what it takes to balance the interests of the residents with those of the powerful politics of Ground Zero. We urge you to vote for Alan Gerson on November 6. | Wednesday, November 07, 2001 - 03:25 am Results- Mark Green lost to Mike Bloomberg for mayor. Marty Markowitz is the new Brooklyn Borough President. Alan Gerson is the new City Councilman for Council District 1. Craig Seeman lost to an anti-endorsed David Yassky for Council District 33. Mr. Seeman had an exceptionally high showing for a third party candidate. Congratulations to Marty Markowitz, Alan Gerson, and Mike Bloomberg.
