What impact, if any, would your housing plan have on middle and working class residents?

Of course, the effects of the housing shortage are not felt by the poor alone. The decline in housing stock, combined with the boom in real estate prices, has left the middle class with few viable options as well. Any plan that increases the number of available units, would, therefore, provide the average consumer with more choices and lower prices. In addition, we need to specifically fund middle- and moderate-income housing programs, like Mitchell-Lama, and make certain that the units in those programs remain affordable over time. After all, these programs ensure that those who actually make the City run – teachers, police officers and civil servants – will always have a place here.
